1/4 HP Rocking Piston Compressor

Matala’s rocking piston compressor is ideal for powering a pond aeration system. All of the components used are very high quality and have a very nice design. For this 1/4 HP compressor, Matala offers three model variations: the MPC-6016A, the MPC-6016C, and the MPC-6016C1. Scroll down for further details on which model is best for you! This compressor size is for aerating ponds up to 1 acre.

This is a 1/4 HP Compressor single head with air filter only. This stand alone compressor can be installed in a variety of applications. Adapt to your existing system or create a custom system.

Features included with the MPC-6016A:

This is the 1/4 HP compressor and air filter (MPC-6016A) combined with a 2 way heavy duty manifold. The manifold includes an oil filled pressure gauge to reduce indicator vibration. This gives a more accurate reading of the actual psi of your system. Also attached is a pressure relief valve which opens at approximately 17 psi to prevent damage to the compressor. The gang valves are high quality brass with 3/8″ barbs connectors. A short section of heat resistant hose is included so as to reduce heat to your air hose connection. This is a stand alone unit without any cabinet which is ready to install in your new or existing aeration system. This compressor is ideal as a replacement compressor for a variety of different manufacturer systems.

The locking cabinet is a landscape green color and designed for outdoor extreme weather conditions. The cabinet stands on a solid support base to maintain a level installation. Within the cabinet we have added a cooling fan with cross flow ventilation. The compressor plugs into a built in GFI outlet. All components are protected within. The heat protection hose leads externally and all you have to do is connect your air hose. Very simple to install and operate.

The cabinet should be located above pond water level and flood zone and within 50 feet of the shore. Do not bury.

For the MPC-6016C

• Only use in water less than 50 feet deep
• Use 3/8″ air hose length up to 300 ft long; 5/8″ hose up to 600 ft long; 1″ hose up to 1000 ft long.
• Use 2 way manifold and 2 hoses

For the MPC-6016C1

• Only use in water less than 50 feet deep
• Keep air hoses less than 300 feet long with 3/8″ hose.
• Increase hose diameter to 1/2″ or larger for distances greater than 300 feet.
• Use 2 way manifold and 2 hoses
